I'm not sure if this is allowed, so let me know and I'll delete if needed.

I wanted to create a post dedicated to discussing the most recent episode because it was so good and I have many thoughts, but also wanted to hear other peoples theories, thoughts, and opinions!

What did y'all think? I thought the episode was great. The theme of truth was throughout this episode and I also think the writers did a good job at using this trial to show the cracks in the denials and lies that have interwoven Louis and Armand's relationship so tightly together.

I think my favorite part was Claudia's monologues/singing and Lastat's recounting of the fight/apology. I haven't read the books yet (I really need to!), so I'm still in the dark on how Lastat was forced into the play/trial, but I think those two scenes were done so well, it didn't read as him being manipulative but rather honest and lent to the narrative of him being a reluctant participant in the "show".

What are y'alls thoughts though?!

Interview with the Vampire has made me reconsider what it means when one says that adaptation was “faithful.” AMC’s version of this story, with its attention to detail in production design, its beautifully written dialogue and smart plot, a cast of actors who are giving everything they have to this story, makes me feel the way I feel when I read Anne Rice’s books. It isn’t just that it recreates everything I’ve seen before in the same order, just like I imagined it. It shows me the sides of Rice’s story that I never imagined, but that were always there. The changes made in this adaptation are the way that Rolin Jones as showrunner show their reverence for the source material. In AMC’s Interview With the Vampire, even longtime fans get to see this story from all new dimensions.

(Still not done with the whole show, so may dodge comments)

This community is a result of me coming back to Dreamwidth searching unsuccessfully for a comm related to the new AMC Interview with the Vampire. I couldn't find one so I created one. All are welcome.

This is very much a work in progress right now, all are welcome as long as you treat other as you wish to be treated. No trolling, no ship bashing (Ship and let Ship), be civil to one another.

Feel free to post anything show related or books related, just be sure to use the appropriate tags. If you can't find the tag let me know and I'll update them.

Things will probably get a little more structure as we go along but for right now I just wanted something to exist.
